PhonIQ is an offline-first phonics learning app designed to help young children recognize letters, sounds, and words through engaging activities, XP rewards, avatar customization, and themed learning journeys. The app is built with child safety as a core principle.

The only data associated with your use of PhonIQ is stored locally on your device and includes:

• Child's chosen in-app nickname or first name (entered voluntarily for personalization)
• Avatar selection and theme preferences
• XP points, progress, and lesson completion data
• App settings and feature preferences

This information never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to our servers, shared with third parties, or used for any purpose other than making the app experience more personalized for the child.

We want to be completely transparent. PhonIQ does not collect, store, or transmit:

• Full name, email address, phone number, or any contact details
• Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or GAID
• Location data (GPS or otherwise)
• Photos, microphone recordings, or camera data
• Behavioral analytics or usage tracking
• Crash reports or diagnostic data sent to us
• Payment information of any kind
• Social network profiles or login credentials

PhonIQ stores all progress data, preferences, and settings using Android SharedPreferences and local app storage on the child's device. This data:

• Remains entirely on the device at all times
• Is deleted when the app is uninstalled
• Can be cleared at any time via Android Settings → Apps → PhonIQ → Clear Data
• Is not backed up to any cloud service by us (device-level backup depends on the user's Android settings)

PhonIQ does not integrate any third-party SDKs for advertising, analytics, or social features. Specifically, we do not use:

• Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or Crashlytics
• Google AdMob or any ad network
• Facebook SDK or any social login
• Any third-party data collection or tracking libraries

The app is distributed through the Google Play Store. Google's own privacy policies may apply to device-level interactions. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details about how Google handles Play Store data.

PhonIQ requests only the minimum permissions necessary to function:

• Audio/Sound: To play pre-recorded phoneme sounds and letter pronunciations. No recording is performed.
• Storage (Read): To load local app assets and learning content.

PhonIQ is directed at children under 13 years of age. We fully comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policy.

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
• We do not require account creation or parental email for the app to function
• We do not serve targeted or behavioral advertisements
• We do not allow children to share personal information publicly within the app
• No social features, chat, or external links are accessible to children within the app

As a parent or guardian, you are in complete control of your child's experience with PhonIQ:

• Review: All data stored by the app is local. You can view it via Android's App Info settings.
• Delete: Uninstalling the app removes all associated data from the device.
• Reset: Clear data at any time via Settings → Apps → PhonIQ → Clear Data.
• Parental Controls: We recommend using Android's built-in parental controls and Google Family Link for additional oversight.

Since PhonIQ does not collect or transmit data over the internet, the risk surface is minimal. However, we take the following precautions:

• App is built following Android security best practices
• Local storage uses Android's sandboxed app storage, inaccessible to other apps
• No sensitive permissions are requested or used
• The app does not establish any network connections to external servers

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or applicable laws. When we do:

• The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised
• Significant changes will be communicated via a notice on the Google Play Store listing
• Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy

We encourage parents to review this policy periodically. This policy is accessible at any time via the app's Settings screen and our Google Play Store listing.
